Five Must See Movies of 2014

2014 is primed to be full of amazing movies and movie-goers will be very busy this year. There are some remakes, some sequels and then some movies that are just expected to make an impression. Here is a look at the 5 movies that you must see when they hit theaters this year.

1. RoboCop

For those that remember the original RoboCop, the excitement is through the roof over what could be a big time remake. Directed by Jose Padilha and starring Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Joel Kinnaman, this movie will most likely appeal to the fans of the older version, but also attempt to create its own legacy in the process. It releases on February 12.

2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Some of the biggest hits come from Marvel Studios because it gives all of us a blast from the comics past and it's doing it again with Captain America in The Winter Soldier. With the movie returning with Black Widow, Nick Fury and introducing The Falcon, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is sure to hit the box offices just as hard as the rest of the Marvel Studios flicks. The movie hits theaters on April 4.

3. Godzilla

On May 16, the return to the big screen for Godzilla will boast a great cast and this remake has a monster that actually looks like Godzilla. For those that were a fan of the legendary classic, this could be a tough movie to pass up despite the last time Hollywood put Godzilla on the screen being rather unimpressive. This one will be considered much better because of who will be on the screen and, of course, the beast looking like its old self.

4. 22 Jump Street

As tough as it is for comedies to come out with an equally entertaining sequel, 22 Jump Street is in a prime position to have success because of the dynamic that Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum have together. The movie is in a perfect spot to still use certain premises in the movie and get away with them. We'll see if the second can be as good as the first on June 13.

5. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

The hype and the anticipation returns for Katness Everdeen as The Hunger Games returns with the part 1 movie of its final book Mockingjay. With Catching Fire leaving us on the edge of our seats with its ending, we'll see Katniss go into battle with the Capitol along with friends and both interests in her love life. November 21 is the set release date for the second to last movie in the series.

Notable Movies also releasing in 2014: The Equalizer, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and 300: Rise of an Empire.
